Creating Possibilities through Coaching
By Jodie Barrett | September 27, 2007
Do you remember a time when everything was possible? The idea that you could get on your bike and fly with the wind, have the perfect job or create whatever future you desired. What happened to your possibilities? Is it now your reality? Did you realize your dreams? It is a bit like heading back to your high school reunion and seeing if the typecast student became what everyone suspected. How often does the true path of someone’s future surprise us and how did they get there? Coaching creates the context for taking the idea of possibilities and transforming it to a real and tangible future. Working in a collaborative and focussed environment whose purpose is to have you succeed. I speak often about possibilities because I find that so many people become stuck or hung up on what they can’t do or change. I can’t change my boss, I am stuck in my job, I can’t change my life. What a way to proceed through the one chance that we have for greatness. The poignant part of all of this is that it is not true. You only are limited by the limits that you create for yourself. Get over it and get on with maximizing your potential. Utilize the support of a coaching conversation to focus your energy and clarify what it is that you need to do to move yourself or your organization forward. Become accountable to yourself and achieve greatness in the process.
The questions that I leave with you today are: What is possible in your world? Are you ready to overcome the impossible?
